Helping Military Families Care For Autism

Congress is currently working on a bill to help all military families, regardless of duty status, qualify for Autism benefits under the military’s insurance program known as “Tri-Care.” Peter Bell of Autism Speaks and army wife Rachel Kenyon joins Andrea Mitchell Reports to discuss.

Temple Grandin Discusses Animals & Autism

Terry Gross interviews Temple Grandin after the release of her latest book, Animals Make Us Human. The first half of the interview focuses on her insights into animal behavior are fascinating and she describes repetitive behavior and why it happens, both in animals and
children with ASD. Near the end of the interview she describes educational implications for children with high functioning autism and Asperger Syndrome.
